Roberto Chamalé
Pianist and Composer
Where emotion meets the keyboard.
For over fifteen years, Roberto Chamalé has been turning silence into sound — creating chamber works inspired by the classical tradition, tango, and contemporary minimalism.
A life devoted to the piano.
Roberto Chamalé is a Guatemalan pianist, composer, organist, teacher, and music researcher of Maya descent (Kaqchikel people). He began his career in his hometown and later studied at the Germán Alcántara National Conservatory and the Higher School of Arts at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala. A turning point came when he received a Russian state scholarship, which allowed him to move to Moscow to study at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music.
Under the guidance of outstanding teachers, Roberto graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree (2023) and a master's degree (2025) in Piano Performance. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies, researching national trends in 20th-century Guatemalan music. His mastery has been recognized with numerous awards at international competitions in Russia, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.
For his contribution to the arts, Roberto was awarded the title of "Outstanding Guatemalan" (2023), as well as the "Angel of Peace" (2015) and the "Crystal Order" (2024). He actively performs at international festivals in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, dedicating his mission to promoting Latin American music and strengthening cultural dialogue between Guatemala and the world.
